‘Raya And The Last Dragon’ Will Not Be Shown At Cinemark in Texarkana
Disney's latest release 'Raya And The Last Dragon' will not be shown at Cinemark Theaters, this includes our location here in Texarkana.
My family is, of course, big Disney fans, and of course like most folks we have Disney plus. And that is a big reason why Cinemark will not be showing the movie that debuts on Friday.
According to a story I found on Deadline the big deal is that the movie will also be available to Disney Plus subscribers for a $30 fee. Most of the big movie distributors have experimented with doing a movie release at theaters and online. We had the chance to watch the latest Trolls movie that way as well as Disney movies 'Onward' and the live-action Mulan.
Here is what 'Raya and the Last Dragon' is all about from the internet movie database.
In a realm known as Kumandra, a re-imagined Earth inhabited by an ancient civilization, a warrior named Raya is determined to find the last dragon.
Here is the official movie trailer.
There are two theater chains in Canada Harkins and Cineplex will not be showing the movie as well. What is the reason why they won't show the movie? Disney had some pretty stiff rules on the rental fee of the movies to the theaters. They did not lower the price because of the wide availability through their streaming services. And told theaters they could opt to not show the movie if they didn't want to.
HBO Max and its distributors made adjustments for movies like Wonder Woman 1984, andTom and Jerry' so that theaters would be enticed to show them.
Will you be watching "Raya and the Last Dragon" on Disney plus when it comes out?
