Buddy is a super cool little dog. He fetches like a big dog! He brings the ball back and drops it at your feet. He sits and waits for you to throw it again. Buddy is good on a leash and is also good with being carried. He weighs about 18 pounds. Buddy is a Puggle which is a mix between a Pug and a Beagle. The beagle was named the fourth smartest breed on the American Kennel Club's list of the 10 Smartest Dog Breeds.

He comes with a FREE basic survival kit from Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital valued at $100!

Wes calls it the "peace of mind package." This kit includes everything that is not performed when he is sent to the vet to be neutered. That means any vaccinations he needs, testing for worms, one month’s treatment for fleas and heart worms and so much more.

Each week we feature a dog from the animal shelter in Texarkana on our Morning Show. We share the blog on our Facebook page in hopes that others will do the same. There are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our shelter in Texarkana. We hope to make a difference by spreading the word.

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet.

You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
