Lara is a beautiful brindle Pitt that is a people pleaser. She is laid back and loves attention. Lara enjoys hugs and playing fetch. Lara is relatively young too. She is approximately two years old. Lara shares a kennel with a very energetic dog so apparently she is very tolerant and good with other dogs.

She comes with a FREE basic survival kit from Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital valued at $100!

This "peace of mind package" includes everything that is not included when you adopt her from the shelter. Any vaccinations she needs, testing for worms, one month’s treatment for fleas and heart worms and so much more.

Each week we feature a dog from the animal shelter in Texarkana on our Morning Show. We share the blog on our Facebook page in hopes that others will do the same. There are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our shelter in Texarkana. We hope to make a difference by spreading the word.

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet.

You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
