It was fairly simple for Miller County Sheriffs Deputies to find their suspect in a home burglary case. Authorities say he dropped his cell phone at the scene of the crime.

Deputies say they responded to a residential burglary call in the Genoa/Fouke area on county road 258. The home owner notified a family member that the home intrusion alarm was activated; when the family member arrived he observed a broken window and a white male suspect behind the residence. The suspect fled on foot after being confronted by the family member who was armed.

The family member provided deputies with a detailed description of the suspect. Deputies recovered evidence, including a cell phone dropped by the fleeing suspect. Miller County investigators obtained a search warrant for the phone and seized information which led to the identity of the suspect, 26 year old Michael Wade McBride of Texarkana, Arkansas.

A felony warrant was issued for McBride on 4-26-2018. Miller County Deputies took McBride into custody in Texarkana, Arkansas on 5-1-2018 where he was booked into the Miller County Detention Center for residential burglary.
