Texarkana Texas Police worked a fatality accident during the noon hour at the Intersection of Summerhill Road and Mall Drive. The investigation is underway as is the clearing of the wreckage from the scene.

Texarkana, Arkansas City Board of Directors meets tonight at city hall beginning at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda is a presentation by United Steel Workers Representative David Beard. Recently the local union voted to accept a contract extension offer from the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company at its Texarkana Plant.

Also the board will consider an ordinance  to allow the city to temporarily suspend occupancy permits for their businesses that are more than two months behind in remitting payment of their advertisement and promotion taxes as required by a city ordinance. If adopted and enforced it could conceivably close those businesses until they are up to date on their taxes.

Texarkana, Arkansas Police are looking for an armed robber who struck a convience store in the 2300 block of North State Line over the weekend. Authorities say a white male suspect entered the business before 11pm Saturday night, brandishing a hand gun and demanding money from the clerk. The suspect fled with a undetermined amount of cash and no injuries were reported. A Weather Channel  Storm Chaser has died in a traffic accident in Northeast Oklahoma. Andy Gabrielson had  been chasing storms in Texas over the weekend and was headed home to Minnesota when the two vehicle, double fatality crash occurred Saturday afternoon.

In Sports: A ticker tape parade is planned for tomorrow in New York City to honor the Super Bowl Champion Giants, who beat the New England Patriots last night in Indianapolis in Super Bowl 46. New York Quarterback Eli Manning won his second Super Bowl MVP Award in the victory.
