Trojan is our featured pet this week. He is a purebred Doberman at the animal shelter in Texarkana. Surprisingly enough, the shelter often gets purebred dogs and cats.

Trojan is a great dog. He doesn't bark much at all. He likes to play and yet isn't a handful. He plays well with people and other dogs as the video shows.

Trojan is a male Doberman Pinscher with lots of play and energy. He does well with both big and small dogs and is good with people. Trojan knows how to have fun but he also knows how to chill out as well. He doesn't bark - even when he is in his kennel at the pound; he isn't a jumper and he has done well on the leash. Come by Animal Care and Adoption Center and adopt this hot shot into your home!

It is so unfortunate that there are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our local shelter when there are so many dogs that would make fabulous pets. Please help us make a difference by spreading the word--share this blog on your Facebook page, Tweet about it too.

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet. You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
