Good Tuesday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of the area until 7pm tonight. Thunderstorms are possible particularly across the northern and eastern portions of the area.

The Texarkana Texas Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 6 pm at the district services building in the 1600 block of Waterall Street. The board will consider the contract for the new superintendent Paul Norton who is taking over for James Henry Russell who recently left to become President at Texarkana College.

The board will also officially name Brad Bailey as the new principal at Texas High School.

The Texas Liegistlature is taking up the final items in the special session. Both the House and the Senate are conducting final votes on bills that maintain school funding and revamp a hurricane insurance program. Governor Rick Perry can call another session if  lawmakers do not complete all the work on time.
