Texarkana Animal League, Little Paws Rescue and Passion for Pooches will have dogs available for adoption at the Harts Building, 223 East Broad Street on Saturday, May 10. They will also have free face paintings, balloons and swirl art for the kids.

Pikachu is a male orange tabby and is pretty friendly. Pikachu is a curious and loving cat who has a way of keeping you entertained. He doesn't mind being held but is more interested in his toys. Pikachu seems to get along fine with other cats. He doesn't scratch or bite and generally seems to be ready to explore.

This week's pooch is Baxter, a male bloodhound mix. He has been at the pound since he was a puppy and has grown up here - he is probably a year old now. He is the most laid back and lazy dog I have ever met at the pound. His favorite thing to do is lying around. Of course he is still a lot of fun. I think he would be a great dog for first time dog owners.

Whoever ends up with this dog is going to be very lucky! Outlaw is a super docile Black Lab mix. He is great with other dogs and very submissive. Outlaw is awesome on the leash and fetches along with bringing the ball back! A little shy but once you spend some time with him, he comes to life. You really can't ask for a better dog, but he has been in the pound since November.

The low cost spay, neuter and vaccination mobile clinic that is operated by Animal Protection League moved to the parking lot at Petsmart over the Summer. The clinic sets up in Texarkana every other Monday. They perform spay and neuters on dogs and cats as well as vaccinations and other services. Jenny is a young brindle pitt who was pregnant when she was taken to the shelter. Jenny was wondering the streets of Texarkana in search of food. She was able to have her babies in the shelter and now that they have all gone to new homes Jenny is ready for a new home too. Jenny is a compact size weighing approximately 40 pounds. She is good on a leash and is very quiet at the shelter. She is happy

Poodle Patch adoptable Poodles and volunteers at PetSmart Sat May 5th

Texarkana Animal League, along with Arklatex Cocker Rescue, Passion for Pooches Rescue, Little Paws Rescue, and Boxer Rescue of Texarkana will have a variety of dogs and cats available for adoption on Saturday, April 19 at Petsmart.

FOUND: This German Shepherd was running loose for over a week near Acme Brick Company in Texarkana. He is friendly but did not want to be caught. IS HE YOUR DOG?
