The Top 10 Most Naughty Town Names In Texas
My wife looks at me often and accuses me of being 12, she's right of course, but I can't help myself, some things just make me snicker. These would fall into that category, the Naughtiest Town Names in the Great State of Texas.
The numbers are subjective to one's taste or lack thereof. But for me, these are the town names and the order of Naughty I would put them in. We shall see if you agree.
Everyone has heard of Intercourse, Pennsylvania, so that's no shocker. However, have you ever heard of Butternut, NY? How about Pee Pee Township, OH, Three Way, AZ, Dick, MI, or how about Dry Prong, LA, or Weiner, AR? Are you snickering yet?
But wait, there's more...
How about Dick Shooter, Idaho, Wankers Corner, Oregon, Cooter, Missouri, or Blue Ball, Maryland? They make my list of favorites as well, but we're here today to talk about some of the best Naughty Town Names from Texas, so if you're at least chuckling at some of these names by now, let's forge ahead.
10: Lovelady, Texas - Population 570
9: Rockwood, Texas - Population ?
Rockwood is so small, (how small is it?), the Google Maps van didn't even drive "downtown" to see the Post Office. It is located near the geographical center of the state and has it's own zip code, but sadly, no stores, no gas.
8: Tool, Texas - Population 2175
A bustling metropolis compared to Rockwood.
7: Kinkler, Texas - Population 2, 3 maybe?
You thought Rockwood was small... Kinkler appears to be a couple of farm houses on a dirt road. Yet, there it is on the map. There's not even a sign on the main highway stating that Kinkler is that-a-way... Seriously?
6: Dickens, Texas - Population 286
Wow! Back to civilization for this one, Dickens has a Courthouse, Post Office, a few places to eat, and a liquor store. It's pretty much on a lonely stretch of Highway out Lubbock-way though, but at least you can find gas there.
5: Latex, Texas - Population None
If you're not trying, you will never go to Latex, Texas. There's literally nothing there, except trees, maybe a Sasquatch. If you want to look it up, it's located east of Marshall right on the Lousiana line.
4: Bangs, Texas - Population 1603
Back to the center of the state for Bangs, TX, and thank goodness, there are people in this one. Located near the center of the state, the last census info we have about Bangs was from 2010, but there's way more to see and do than in Latex, trust me.
3: Cumby, Texas - Population 777
Most of us 'round these parts are very familiar with Cumby, Texas, or at the very least know where it is. It's on the way to Dallas for those of us who live in east Texas, right off I-30 between Sulpher Springs and Greenville.
2: Leakey, Texas - Population 425
Leakey, Texas is the county seat of Real County located west of San Antonio. The latest census numbers are from 2010 because, well, you know, nobody updates anything.
1: Ding Dong, Texas - Population Unknown???
The longhorn population in Ding Dong, Texas far outnumbers the people. In fact, I would be shocked to learn if anyone's address actually says Ding Dong, Texas on it. But when you search for it, there it is, and there you have it.
