The Weenie Dogs Are Headed to the Race Track Again
The dogs are headed for track again on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, for the famous Wiener Dog Races at Harrah's Louisiana Downs. You never seen anything like it. Those adorable little, long-bodied, short-legged, weenie dogs running to be top dog.
The fun starts at 11AM on Monday and the first race begins at 12PM with the championship race happening at approximately 2PM. There will also be race heats for children to participate in.
A children's area with free admission will be set up on the racing apron. Face painting will be available for an additional charge. Food trucks from across the region will also be on the racing apron serving up great local bites for purchase.
To get your dog into the race you'll need to submit a registration form by 5PM on Wednesday, Aug. 30 by emailing your registration forms to Casey Boddie at cboddie@caesars.com. Then be ready to have your dog at the track during the in-person registration on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 6:30PM. Registrants need to report to the South Gate of the racing office and paddock near the racing office. All dogs must be pure bred and must be current on their vaccinations. They need to play well with others too since they will be racing side by side off leash.
- Only one entry per dog allowed, multiple entries will be disqualified.
- Only one dog per household will be allowed to compete.
- 32 dogs will be randomly drawn and selected to participate in the races.
