Texas Governor Greg Abbott Swears-In For The Third Time

Governor Greg Abbott was once again sworn into the top Texas office yesterday, Tuesday, January 17, 2023, on the steps of the Capitol in Austin. It was a beautiful day in central Texas as the Governor delivered his third inaugural speech, tying former Governor Rick Perry as the only Texas governor to be elected three times. 

Governor Abbott was accompanied by the First Lady of Texas, Cecilia Abbott, many other family members, members of congress, and other Texas dignitaries. The Texas National Guard presented the colors and led the pledge of allegiance, then country music legend Tanya Tucker performed the National Anthem.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and his wife Jan were there, Patrick took his oath of office yesterday as well. The governor's swearing-in was officiated by the Supreme Court of Texas Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht.
