Texarkana Jeep Junkies Participate in Texas Trash-Off
The "Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off Event" statewide took place Saturday. Locally the Texarkana Jeep Junkies Club participated by cleaning their adopted stretch of Hwy 2148 between Hwy 67 and Hwy 59 by Lake Wright Patman. This stretch of road has been adopted and this was the "Adopt a Highway" clean up effort for this piece of highway. If you or your organization would like to adopt a highway, all the information you need can be found here.
The Texarkana Jeep Junkies Club is a Jeep club local to Texarkana that is a recreational off-road group with a focus on Jeep products. Its focus on keeping the countryside litter free goes hand and hand with the principles they observe and teach when they off-road.
I have been a proud member of this club for a little more than three years and I cannot say enough about how they welcomed my son and me into the club. For folks who know me, I have been a sports car owner most of my adult life and making the transition to a family car was not something I was ready to do. But after much debate, the Jeep became my choice for what it offered and the lifestyle was something that really excited me.
The Texarkana Jeep Junkie Club is very family oriented and holds monthly events like meet and greets and rides to some of the off-road recreation areas as well.
Texarkana Jeep Junkies Club can be found on Facebook or at texarkanajeepjunkiesclub@gmail.com for anyone interested in joining.
