I found this video of the streets in Texarkana from 1873 until the current day and thought you would like to see the transformation of the town from its early railroad history to its present state.

From views of Texas Boulevard to the old Cotton Belt Hospital the video takes you on a tour of Texarkana throughout the years. There is even a picture of Stateline that depicts when the Texas side was the wet or side that had alcohol sales and the Arkansas side that was dry. In 202 both sides of the state line are wet and the 'booze line' is something that no longer has meaning in Texarkana.

I have attended many parades in Texarkana, from the Four States Fair parades in mu youth to the Christmas Parades I have been fortunate to not only watch them but be in them as well. In the video, there is a parade picture with what looks like dozens of elephants. I would really like to know when that parade took place.

Did you know not only did Johnny Cash perform in Texarkana, but the king of Rock n Roll Elvis Presley performed in this little city? The video wraps up with the current projects going on in Texarkana with the rehabilitation of the Grim Hotel and the removal of the facade of the old Texarkana National Bank building.
