Pork Chop 5k Run, One Mile Family Run and Dog Walk on Saturday

Register now for the Pork Chop 5k run or the family run and one mile dog walk that will kick off the first annual Oktoberfest in Downtown Texarkana. The 5k will be a timed event. The one mile run and dog walk are not timed so take your time and enjoy participating with your family and furry friends.

Pork Chop is an actual pig that is the mascot of the Animal Care & Adoption Center, Texarkana, USA. He will undoubtedly attend this event but one thing is clear, this pig doesn’t run for anything. Pork Chop will be strolling and visiting during the one mile dog walk. All proceeds from these events go to the Texarkana Friends of the Shelter which benefits the Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Sign up for the 5k race in advance for $20 or $25 on the day of the race. Sign up for the Fun Run and Dog Walk in advance for $10 or $15 on the day of the race.

Registration on the day of the race will be from 6:30AM to 7:30AM. The National Anthem will be sang at 7:45AM and the 5K race will begin at 8AM. The Fun Run and Dog Walk will begin at 9AM.

T-shirts will be provided for pre-registered Pork Chop 5K runners and those signing up the day of race on a first come first serve bases until they are gone.
