Miller County Election Reminders — Get Registered to Vote
The Miller County Election Commission is reminding citizens of Miller County that the deadline for voter registration in Miller County is Oct. 11, 2016.
Voters must be registered by that date to be eligible to vote in the General Election, which is Tuesday, November 8. The Commission anticipates high voter turnout and is recommending a few tips in order to reduce wait time for voting on both Election Day and during the early vote period.
If you have not registered or if you have not received your voter registration card following registration at an offsite location other than the courthouse, please go to the Miller County Courthouse, 400 Laurel Street; County Clerk’s office, Room 105 or phone 870-774-1501. Janet Satterfield is the voter registration clerk, and she will register you to vote, will answer any questions regarding your voter registration status, or help you vote by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots are currently available.
You can also visit the Arkansas Secretary of State website to determine if you are actually registered or not and print out a form from your computer. Click here if you live in Bowie County and want to check if you're already registered to vote.
The voter check-in process will be delayed if you need to make changes to your registration information at the polls. If you have had a name or address change since you last voted, please go to the County Clerk’s office and make those changes prior to voting.
The Miller County Courthouse hours are 8AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday. Both courthouses will be closed on Monday, October 10, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. Thus, beginning September 30, you have only seven business days to register.
Early voting at the Miller County Courthouse will take place October 24 through November 7, 2016. Voting hours at the courthouse are 8:00AM to 6PM weekdays, 10AM to 4PM on Saturday and 8AM to 5PM on Monday, November 7.
Early voting will also occur at Hickory Street Baptist Church, 2923 Hickory Street on October 27, 28 29 and November 3, 4 and 5, and at the Stanley Davis Community Center in Fouke on October 27, 28, 29 and Nov. 3 and 4. The early voting hours at Hickory Street Baptist and Fouke are 8AM to 6PM on Thursday and Friday and 10AM to 4PM on Saturday.
Miller County is a Vote Center County and any registered voter in Miller County may vote at any of the three early vote locations.
The Commission would also like to remind registered voters that they may vote at any polling place within the County on Election Day from 7:30AM to 7:30PM. Voters will not be able to vote at the Miller County Courthouse on Election Day.
