I enjoy many parts of my day but it is hard to imagine it much better than spending an afternoon smelling puppy breath and cuddling with puppies!

I recently rescued a pregnant dog from the local animal shelter. In just two short weeks she went into labor. As she was having the babies I kept thinking "this will be the last one" but she wasn't done until that eighth one popped out.

It is hard to figure out what daddy must have been. There could have been more than one daddy. There is no doubt that he was some sort of large breed dog. The babies were just a little over a pound each when they were born. Momma is a 65-pound full blooded German Shepherd.

This litter has been one of the best ones that I have had at my rescue. Very sweet, smart and relatively easy to care for. They just turned eight weeks old today and I have homes for several already. Half of the litter is being fixed today and the other half will be fixed tomorrow utilizing pediatric spay and neuter through Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital.

I love taking photos and I am required to publish twelve blogs a week so I decided I would share this story.
