The USSSA in partnership with the city of Texarkana presents the second annual 'Two States Softball Classic' this weekend.

The purpose of the showcase is for schools from around the Texarkana area to come here and play in the tournament to let prospective colleges see their players in a competitive environment. The showcase id for girls 16 and under fastpitch softball. Sandy Dixon who is responsible for this event told us.

We have booked over 1600 hotel rooms for players, coaches and scouts from across the nation. The word is out that Texarkana has some great talent and coaches are coming here to get a chance to see these players.

Activities begin today with a skills challenge at Grady T Wallace Park. Tonight there will be a luau at Holiday Springs Water Park.

The showcase is in full swing tomorrow with the tournament taking place at three parks in the Texarkana area. They will be playing at William Karrh Memorial Park, Grady T Wallace Park, and Hobo Jungle Park. The tournament will be both Saturday and Sunday from 8am til 8pm.
