There were rumors going around town that one of Texarkana's beloved diners was going to close.

With Bryce's Cafeteria closing last month, the number of places I like to call the good after church Sunday lunch spots were getting pretty small. On social media there were some grumblings about Dixie Diner closing its location on Kings Highway in Texarkana,

Dixie Diner closed its Stateline location about two months ago and I kinda panicked. I am a big fan of a lot of the menu.  The burgers are great but the chicken fried steak and chicken spaghetti are some of the items I look forward to.The southern comfort kind of diners are one of my go to spots for lunch.

I had a chance to talk to Doris Morris the owner of Dixie Diner about the rumors and she set me straight.

Not no, but hell no, Dixie Diner has no plans to close. We plan on being here forever.

Well I guess that settles it. Dixie Diner is here to stay. So make plans to go by there and have a little strawberry pie and say hello.
