Texarkana, Texas Police arrested a vehicle burglary suspect in the overnight hours.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Colby Mitchell, of Texarkana, Texas and charged him with Vehicle Burglary early Monday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress on Holly Lane at 1:49AM today after a witness observed a man allegedly prowling around vehicles in his neighborhood. Officers located Mitchell standing next to a vehicle at that location. He was reportedly dressed in all black clothing, a black mask, and wearing latex gloves. When the officers approached Mitchell, police say he immediately dropped a sack containing a large amount of loose change and other items typically left in vehicle consoles.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located other vehicles that they believed might have been broken into. One victim was able to confirm that items were missing from his vehicle and the items matched those found in Mitchell’s possession. Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Bi-State Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
