Wonder how the Texarkana area economy is shaping up? You can find out more at an upcoming summit.

The summit will be hosted by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, April 26, at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center on Cowhorn Creek Road.

Discover if the Texarkana regional economy is growing or declining, how it compares to the rest of the nation, and what we can do as a region to create a robust local economy by participating in a “Regional Economic Summit.”

We as a community will discuss what we need to do to help us grow and expand, improving the standard of living for all of our residents.

The summit will take place from 2 to 4 pm with a Q&A from 4-5 pm. Registration will begin at 1:45PM This event is free and open to the public.

Florida economist and economic development consultant William H. Fruth, who has personally analyzed more than 800 local economies across the nation and delivered economic presentations in 39 states, will provide a fast-paced, entertaining, and thought-provoking summary of our economy.

Fruth will explain what is driving the region’s economy and the “five things” all communities must do to build a strong local economy.

“Economic development isn’t about one person. It is about a regional community. We will explore the opportunities," said Mike Malone, President of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce. "We as a community will discuss what we need to do to help us grow and expand, improving the standard of living for all of our residents."
