The Texarkana Ark., Police Department continues to investigate last week's homicide in which authorities found 40-year-old Michael Scott Roberts dead in his home. Roberts had gunshot wounds to the body. In a press release issued today, Monday, July 6, 2015, authorities say "they are working diligently to determine suspect information involving the recent homicide that occurred last Friday at the victim's home on Garland Street." In today's press release, it also states, "at this time there is no further information to release on this case."

Texarkana Arkansas Police Officers responded to a 911 call in the 1800 Block of Garland Street today at approximately 11:30 a.m. on a report of a possible suicide. Patrol Officers arriving on scene found a w/m deceased later identified at Michael Scott Roberts, 40 years of age, a resident of Texarkana, AR inside the home with what appeared to them to be gunshot wounds to the body.

Officers at the scene requested the Criminal Investigation Division send the Crime Scene Unit and Investigators to the residence.   The Criminal Investigation Division is treating this as a possible homicide and are conducting a thorough investigation at this time. The body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.   This investigation is ongoing and no additional information can be released at this time.
