Lorde and Imagine Dragons both received lots of love this morning when the Billboard Music Awards nominees were announced. The quartet and the New Zealand-born singer, respectively, each received nominations in 12 categories in this year's awards.
Drake's new album Nothing Was the Same has debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart with a whopping 658 million copies sold, making it the second-biggest debut of the year, behind Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience. Lorde has taken a "Wrecking Ball" to Miley Cyrus, dethroning her #1 hit of the same name and ascending to the Billboard Hot 100 chart throne with her song "Royals." The debut single by the sixteen-year-old New Zealand artist is now #1.
“Wrecking Ball” is holding still at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Miley Cyrus’ latest single is in the top spot for the second week in a row.
