The City of Texarkana, Texas has partnered with a local contractor, Little’s Critter, to relocate approximately 30 ducks and geese.

The water fowl is from Spring Lake Park, and are considered or identified as domesticated.

According to a press release from the city, originally, Texas Parks and Wildlife instructed the city to leave the animals at Spring Lake Park during the dredging of the lake. The ducks and geese were expected to naturally migrate as necessary. Upon a follow up observation, TPW recommended that the domesticated animals be relocated.

The relocation began Wednesday evening and will take approximately 3 to 5 days. The birds will be relocated to Karrh and Wallace Parks, both in Texarkana, Texas.
