Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've all heard the saying "Don't go to bed angry" a thousand times. Well, science has proven it is true.

True, in the sense that it's not a good idea to go to sleep when you are angry. Otherwise, you might never get over that argument.

The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, suggests that during sleep, the brain reorganizes the way negative memories are stored, making these associations harder to suppress in the future.

 

I can't help but wonder if this is how a grudge against someone starts? The study said that even if you don't mention the enlargement again the memory will always be there. So, the next time you and your spouse get into a tiff, make up and get over the anger before you go to sleep. Life can already be full of sad events so why add more if you can help it?
