Santa Land – The Original Texas Drive-Thru Christmas Park
The countdown to Christmas is on, and if you’re looking for somewhere to take the family this holiday season, I have the perfect place for you. Santa Land Texas located in Miranda Lambert’s hometown of Lindale, Texas just minutes from Tyler, is transformed into a magical winter wonderland this time every year.
Established in 1995 as an original drive-thru Christmas Park, Santa Land Texas will entertain you and your family the moment you get there. Happy to say, the park is officially now open for the 2017 holiday season.
With stunning visual displays, featuring more than 2.5 million lights, and themed areas, you can’t help but notice the glow of Santa Land Texas throughout the piney woods, as you arrive from the interstate. This 24-acre park contains magical hand-crafted, animated displays designed especially for the entire family. The park is open rain or shine now through Jan. 4, 2018 and there is always something new each year.
One of my favorites is the “The Tunnel of Lights” featuring 25,000 flashing, dancing lights, and as you exit the 250-foot tunnel there are 12-foot tall toy soldiers saluting you. Several sections of this park have themed areas with lots of Christmas music coordinated with the displays to give you the ultimate holiday experience.
Santa Land Texas Original Drive-thru Christmas Park is open seven days a week now until January 4 including holidays from 6-10:30PM. Unlike some parks that charge a fee per person, Santa Land Texas charges $25 per car. Commercial vans, personal trailers, and truck loads of more than 6 people is $40 with an additional $5 per person after that.
Groups of 25 or more are $8 per person and Santa Tractor trailer rides are available starting Thanksgiving Day for $12 per person (groups of 25 or more $8 per person) and children two and younger get in free. Tractor Trailer rides will be available through December 26 from 6:30-9PM.
While you’re waiting in line make sure and check out the Snack Shack and Gift Shop for some hot chocolate, homemade apple cider or a photo with Santa Claus.
Children can visit Santa Claus starting Thanksgiving Day, beginning at 6PM until 10PM, with Santa’s last appearance on Dec. 23. Because after all, Santa has to get ready for his big trip around the world on Dec. 24.
