Mrs. Tami Blair, a certified advanced placement biology teacher and science department head was recently named an Arkansas Teacher of the Year Regional Finalist.She was recognized during an awards ceremony at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock on Monday September 16th. She received a cash award in the amount of $1,000 from the Walton Foundation.

Mrs. Blair has been teaching in the Texarkana Arkansas School District since 2002. She believes a student must be interested and motivated to learn. "Every child inherently wants to learn and be successful, but they come to the classroom with barriers to that success. It is my job to identify those barriers, whether biological or environmental, and help the student overcome them."

Mrs. Blair is married to Kirk and they have four children, Codi, Darren, Billy, and Michael.
