Katy Perry Officially Debuts “Roar”

Katy Perry's new single rolled into iTunes with a "Roar" early Monday.

It leaked over the weekend, but "Roar" received its official release at midnight Eastern time, when it was made available on iTunes. Katy sings in the chorus of the poppy tune, "I got the eye of the tiger/the fire/dancing through the fire/'cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar/louder, louder than a lion/'cause I am a champion/and you’re gonna hear me roar."

"Roar" is the first single off Katy's upcoming album, Prism, which drops October 22. As you know, a huge gold semi truck bearing the album's name and release date has been traveling across the U.S. since July 30, though, according to TMZ, it was struck by a drunk driver in a Walmart parking lot in Pennsylvania on Friday. No one inside the truck was injured, and the drunk driver was arrested.
