Flash Back Friday: Blondie Releases New Digital Single; Will Perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Special

Blondie has just released a brand-new single as a digital download.  The danceable, reggae-flavored track, titled "Sugar on the Side," can be purchased now at iTunes in the U.S. and Canada.

Meanwhile, in case you haven't heard, Blondie has joined the list of artists who will perform in New York City's Times Square as part of the East Coast portion of ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2014, which airs at 11:30 p.m. ET on December 31.

This marks the first time in more than 30 years that the New Wave legends will be performing on a Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve special.  Other artists who also will be hitting the stage in Times Square that night include Miley Cyrus, rap stars Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Swedish dance duo Icona Pop.

Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy will host the festivities in New York, including the traditional countdown to midnight.  Meanwhile, the West Coast segment of the special will be hosted by Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, and will feature performances from Daughtry, Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, Capital Cities, The Fray, Jennifer Hudson and Fall Out Boy.
