I love my job because it is so much fun. I always have something to say. I like to give advice to people and enjoy finding relationship & self-improvement stories to share with folks. I prefer to look at the bright side. I also believe that community service is a great gift that should be given by everyone and especially anyone willing to give of their time. I'm a huge dog lover and German Shepherds are my favorite. I visit our local animal shelter often and take photos for blogs to help find homes for the homeless pets. If you have lost a pet I can put a photo and description on our website with your contact information. Just send me an email! Please remember to spay and neuter your pets and, super important, get them microchipped.

Pet of the Week is a Young, Collie-Pyrenees Mix at the Texarkana Animal Shelter
Thunder is our featured pet of the week from the animal shelter in Texarkana this week. He is a super fun, young dog. He looks to be mixed possibly with Flat-Coated Collie and Great Pyrenees. He is very playful and loves to roll around with his person while gently nibbling and licking.
Who Keeps Their Christmas Tree up the Longest?
I had a friend who used to be so particular about putting her Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving and taking it down on New Year’s Day, except one year when she left it up until February. Of course, I can’t say much because I left my un-decorated tree in the corner of my living room from December of last year until October of this year.
Can anyone top that?

Tips to Unlock Your Car if the Keys are Inside the Vehicle
We've all done it, or at least most of us. I have probably locked my keys in my car a dozen times or more. I used to be so bad about it that I made a spare key and gave it to the police officer that always came to my rescue back in the day when they could help you open your door even if there wasn't an emergency. But, there are actually several interesting and easy ways to get into a locked car.

Watch Out for Stinging Ground Hornets and Other Things Under the Ground in Texarkana
I discovered something very scary recently -- a ground hornet that can sting multiple times without dying in my backyard in the Texarkana area. They burrow their nests in the ground and will swarm on a moment's notice. Thankfully, the day that I found them was early enough in the day and cold temps kept them sleepy so they didn't attack.
Strange Southern Food Combinations That Are Actually Really Good
Do you crave certain food with other foods that don't go together? Pickles with peanut butter, mayonnaise with crawfish, or cheese curls with cereal. What are your strange favorite food combinations?
