Amazon Drones May Be The Future Of Home Deliveries [VIDEO]
Drone delivery from the warehouse to your door isn't as far fetched as some would have you think.
When I heard this story, I was reminded of watching the Jetsons on television as a child. I have always wondered when the gadgets that were so futurist back then would be used today.
According to NBC News, "the Marine Corps have been using two remote-controlled K-MAX helicopters to deliver supplies in Afghanistan."
Currently, the working prototype can promise "half-hour delivery, and we can carry objects, we think, up to five pounds, which covers 86 percent of the items that we deliver," according to Mr. Bezos in an interview with NBC News.
A tentative launch date is scheduled for 2015 but obstacles such as air regulations and liability if it falls on someone will need to be addressed before a "Prime Air" drone delivers to your door.
