Yes, you did read that title right! The annual Hope Watermelon Festival is right around the corner!

The festival is set for August 8 - 10 and admission into the festival is free! The parking fee is only $3.

If you're a total stranger and have no clue what this festival is about then let me just tell you all about it. The Hope Watermelon Festival is a huge staple for the city. Watermelon is sold by the slice (and very large slices at that), there will be watermelon eating contests, seed spitting contests and even watermelon weigh-ins!

The festival itself actually dates back to the mid 1920s when the city staged a one-day annual festival! Want to hear something else really cool? The Guinness Book of World Records certified in 2006 Arkansas' very own Lloyd Bright's 268.8 pound watermelon is indeed the world's largest watermelon to date!

Want to hear something even cooler than that? Arkansas native Tracey Lawrence is set to perform the last day of the festival with the Jason Helms Band as the opening act! So that means you should totally go.

The gates open for the concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 10 and Tracey Lawrence will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.! Want to win tickets to see Tracey Lawrence at the Hope Watermelon Festival? Just click here to enter on our VIP tab to win!

Country music, watermelon, family...what's not to love?
