The Texarkana Independent School District knows this new at-home learning approach raises many questions about how students will be graded for the remainder of the year.

Here are the school closure grading most asked questions.

For all students:
How will grades for the 5th and 6th grading period be determined?
All students in grades 1 through 12 will receive a “NG” or “No Grade" in the grade book system for the 5th and 6th grading periods. Report cards will not be sent home for the 5th grading period. Teachers will monitor the progress students are making through At-Home Learning. Final report cards will be mailed to students after the close of the school year.

Second semester and/or final year averages will reflect a grade of “P” for Passing-Demonstration of Proficiency or “F” for Failure to Demonstrate Proficiency. Students who are at risk of receiving an “F” for the semester/year will receive a notification in the coming weeks.

How will I know if my student in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade is on track from now until the end of the year?
Teachers will make every effort to communicate with parents on student progress and to ensure their experience with At-Home Learning is positive, effective and enriching.

Information specific to grade levels can be found on the TISD website.
