Home is where the heart is. It is also where we are supposed to get sanctuary, rest, relaxation and rejuvenate for the next day. Home is the place where we spend time with our families. It should be comfortable and easy to spend time at home. According to a story on Uncoached.com, since we spend so much time in our homes, it's easy to get into habits and patterns of behavior that aren't the healthiest.

Here's a rundown of some things most of us should be doing less of when we're at home and why we should be doing less at home.

Eating - When you're at home, food is always just a few steps away. It takes a bit of discipline, but not reaching for food every time the mood strikes you could improve the quality of your life in a big way.

Watching Television - The average American watches more than five hours of television a day. While it's just a fact of life for many people, if you think about it, it's crazy! Turn off the tube and get a hobby.

Work - Checking e-mails, Blackberrys, iPads, text messages ... this all counts as work. Shut it down when you get home and enjoy a healthier balance of work and home life.

Staring at the Internet - When you're bored and just mindlessly staring at the computer, snap out of it. In these times, do something to feed your soul. Take a walk, open a book or start a conversation.
