The United Way Campaign Kickoff begins today and is a little different because of the ongoing pandemic. This year it will be virtual.

The Campaign Kickoff is set to begin on the United Way Texarkana Facebook page at 12-noon today, Thursday, September 10.

Both Texarkana city Mayors, Texas-side Mayor Bob Bruggeman, and Arkansas-side Mayor Allen Brown will be there to help get the campaign rolling this year.

Even though 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, it certainly has for our local charities as well. Currently, our local United Way Texarkana is down $100,000 this year in their fundraising efforts due to the pandemic, and that directly affects the services of 30 organizations that usually benefit greatly from the United Way.

The United Way said they will have upcoming fundraising opportunities with a Golf Tournament, Fish Fry, and Rummage Sale.
