Texarkana Police Asking for Help, Can You Identify This Couple?
Texarkana Police work hard to keep everyone safe in town but they can't be everywhere all the time. That's why they need your help in locating this couple.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department's Facebook page, the man and woman in these photos were caught on surveillance cameras at Academy Sports on Saturday night March 12.
The couple allegedly hid two pairs of Nike shoes, Nike clothes, and several boxes of ammunition under an empty baby carrier they had placed in a shopping cart.
When they checked out they acted like they had nothing but a soft drink and a candy bar when in actuality there was about $2,900 worth of merchandise in the shopping cart under the baby carriage. The couple ended up setting off the alarm at the exit.
The TTPD then posted;
After several seconds of trying to convince the employees that they'd actually paid for everything in their buggy, the woman gathered up some of the items and ran out the door. The man then grabbed the baby carrier that (while still unknown to the employees) is actually filled with 2,000 rounds of 5.56 ammo and follows her out the door. It was so heavy that he almost lost his balance when he tried to pick it up out of the buggy.
Police say they were seen fleeing the scene in a maroon 4-door vehicle.
TTPD would love to talk with them, so if you know who they are or where they are please call (903) 798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP. If you call Crime Stoppers you can stay anonymous and you could be rewarded up to $1,000 for information that leads to their identification and arrest.
