Texarkana Police Arrest Two Aggravated Robbery Suspects
A pair of suspects are behind bars after allegedly robbing a woman at gunpoint.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested 19 year old Donta Carson, of Texarkana, Texas and a sixteen year old juvenile for Aggravated Robbery.
Authorities say at approximately 10:00 on Wednesday morning, officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery of an individual in an apartment complex in the 2200 block of West 15th Street. The victim advised that she was sitting in her vehicle when an unknown young male opened the passenger side door of her vehicle and got in. He then pointed a handgun and ordered her to give him all her money. He, along with two other males that the victim noticed standing at the rear of her vehicle during the robbery, fled on foot and got into a small white car after the victim gave her purse to the male inside her vehicle.
The victim immediately called 9-1-1 and provided descriptions of the suspects. When officers arrived in the area, they saw a white vehicle driving on W. 16th which immediately made an abrupt turn in the apartment complex as the patrol unit approached. Two men were then seen running away from the now parked vehicle as the officer pulled up. Carson was detained by officers shortly afterwards and identified as one of the subjects seen running from the vehicle, which had been reported stolen on Tuesday. With the help of witnesses, the juvenile was located in a public area of the apartment complex a short time later and arrested.
Carson was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and the juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Robbery. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. A police detective later obtained an arrest warrant or Carson for the additional charge of Aggravated Robbery, which he served Thursday morning in the Bi-State Jail.
Carson’s bond was set at $25,000 for Aggravated Robbery and $10,000 for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle.
Detectives continue to investigate this robbery. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
