The Texarkana Museum of Regional History presents  'A Tribute To Ragtime'  this Saturday at 6 PM.

Here is what the Texarkana Museum Systems had to say about this performance on Saturday:

Pianist Vicki Carr will perform classic Ragtime favorites in the Music Room of the historic P. J. Ahern Home, 403 Laurel Street. Refreshments will be served and guests will be able to view a special exhibit honoring African-American Ragtime composers such as Texarkana's own, Scott Joplin.

This performance that the Texarkana Museum Systems has put together for everyone in helping celebrate 'Black History Month'. The performance will take place at the  PJ Ahern home from 6 pm until 8 pm. Refreshments will be served and guests will be able to see a special exhibit honoring African-American Ragtime composers such as Texarkana's own, Scott Joplin. This is the 50th birthday of the Texarkana Museum Systems as well.

.The PJ Ahern home was designed by the original owners in the early 1900's. The two-story home features four bedrooms, four baths, a butler pantry, a music room, and a screened-in porch that was added in 1918 for the kids to sleep in. The PJ Ahern was purchased in 2011 by the Texarkana Museum Systems and is now a historic site. The PJ Ahern home is located at 403 Laurel Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.
