Celebrate Black History Month Wednesday At Texarkana College
Texarkana College will host a spectacular event celebrating Black History Month on Wednesday. Make plans now to come for lunch and enjoy a specially prepared menu by local Texarkana restaurant Off The Fire. Tickets are just $5 for students, adults are $10. Please purchase meal tickets in advance in the TC Administration Building- tickets also available day of the event but quantities are limited.
The Lunch Menu will be specially prepared for TC’s 'Black History Month' event. The menu includes a choice of two of the following meats.
· BBQ Baby Back Ribs
· Honey-Roasted Garlic Chicken Wings
· Home-style Meatloaf
Your meal will also include, twice-baked southern- style macaroni and cheese, seasoned green beans, homemade rolls and 'Off the Fire’s' signature cornbread
The special Black History Month Program will be held in the Truman Arnold Student Center from 11:30 AM – 1 PM and will feature special guest speaker- Mr. Derick McGary, TC Students in a Historical Timeline Reenactment Video, local talent groups, and a special guest appearance by former United States Surgeon General Dr. Jocelyn Elders.
Doors open at 11 AM for lunch and will lunch service will continue throughout the program. You will be able to come-and-go for a little while, or come and stay for the entire program. The event is free and lunch is value priced! All proceeds go toward a special TC student scholarship fund.
