Texarkana College Presents 'Creative Focaccia' on September 15.

This is what Texarkana College had to say about the upcoming event:

Join Chef Tyler Standridge in discovering the joy of making and eating focaccia! Focaccia is a flat Italian bread sprinkled with olive oil, salt and herbs before baking. Not only is it one of the most flavorful breads, it is also one of the easiest and fun to bake, with limitless array of flavors and appearance-even pizza dough!

This is a great event that you can attend. It will take place on September 15th a the upstairs kitchen in the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College from 6-9 pm. Texarkana College is located at 2500 North Robison Road in Texarkana Texas.

Here is a video on the basics of Focaccia.

In the video, the chef talks about Focaccia and how he considers this the gateway to bread making. He goes on to talk about the simple nature of Focaccia and how it does not use a starter. It is just a straight dough, you add your flour, yeast, water, olive oil, and water and just mix it all together.

This is just one of the great upcoming events to be held at the college that you can get involved in. Future events are:

September 22 Knife Skills 101

October 13th Fresh Pasta Perfection

November 10th Tiramisu Two Ways
