Some of the games will be flip cup, egg race, water balloon toss, hula hoop, putting contest, wiggle racers, cup pong, and others to be determined. Registration is $20 per person and includes a t-shirt as well as lunch at Pop's Place afterward. That is an amazing deal! You get to have a super fun time, food and a momento of the day's events all while helping out a great cause!
Prizes will be awarded for most the creative team name, longest travel distance, best costume, and of course the "Spirit of Trey" award. Spectators will have a blast watching the old school events played out in front of them this Saturday.
Funds raised go into the Trey Varner Benevolent Fund, which was established in 2014 by the family and friends of Trey Varner for the purpose of assisting individuals and organizations with specific needs that cannot be met through traditional methods. Funds are distributed as needed and eligibility is determined by a committee that is appointed by the Varner Family.
Event coordinator Sandy Varner said, "Last year's event was a huge success. Not only did we raise a lot of funds for the Trey Varner Benevolent Fund, we also had a great time. We are adding a new event this year which will be a lot of good old fashioned fun and we hope will also raise a lot of money for the fund."
Trey Varner tragically lost his life in a boating accident that could have been avoided if proper boating safety guidelines had been followed. Please make sure to keep your lake fun safe this summer.
