Southwest Center ‘Little Free Library’ Opens March 2
Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council, The African American Committee and the 'Little Free Library Project' has selected the Southwest Center, as a community site for a Little Free Library House.
The Little Free Library will be stocked with books for children ages Kindergarten through 4th grade. They are asking the community to assist with donations of gently used or new books, in addition to any donations as well.
The Little Free Library Houses are newsstands that have been provided by the Texarkana Gazette. The grand opening for Southwest Center Little Free Library House is on Saturday, March 2, 11 AM.
The mission of the Little Free Library is to:
Promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity, and wisdom across generations.
The official motto of the Little Free Library is "Take a Book, Return a Book."
