School Is Back And We Need To Remember These School Zone Traffic Laws

With school in full swing for most of Texarkana it may be time to go over those school zone traffic laws to keep the kids safe, and you from getting a ticket.

The Texarkana, Texas Police posted these reminders on their Facebook page.

It is illegal to pass a school bus from any direction while the busses’ red lights are flashing. Most school zone speed limits and zones have clear markings be strictly followed. zones. Remember no phone use. It is illegal to text and drive anywhere, and phone use is prohibited in school zones.

Remember to watch for kids, because they may not be watching for you.
Parents should always remind their children to watch for other vehicles that are pulling through driveways and always look both ways before crossing a school driveway.
Patrol Officers will be working in school zones at the beginning and end of each school day.

Also from their page a note about cell phone usage in school zones.

You can't use your cell phone in a school zone. This includes for texting or talking on the phone. The only exceptions are if you’re in a vehicle that is stopped or if you are using a hands free device.
