Santa Sprint and Reindeer Run 5K and Dog Show Saturday

Jingle your way downtown this Saturday, December 10, for the Texarkana Museums System's third annual Santa Sprint and Reindeer Run.

The 5k Santa Sprint will begin at 8AM outside the historic Ace of Clubs House. Runners are encouraged to dress with a festive flair and will even be given jingle bells for added cheer.

First and second place winners of the 6 age categories will receive medals straight from Santa himself. Starting at 11, pooches can be entered into the 9 Reindeer dog show categories and win doggy gifts. Kids can make FREE Christmas crafts, munch on cookies and cocoa for sale at Mrs. Claus's corner and take photos with the special guest, Santa Claus.

TMS Board President Velvet Cool says this will be

"A new family tradition to add to every holiday season." Proceeds will benefit the Texarkana Museums operating fund and help to keep your downtown museums alive and merry! Museum employee Melody Womack noted that "Based on registration numbers so far, this will be TMS's biggest and best Santa Sprint yet!"

Enter yourself, your children, your family as a Santa for the fun and friendly 5k race in downtown Texarkana (Arkansas and Texas). Celebrate the Joy of the Season by slipping into your Santa Suits or Jingle Bells as we race, sprint, stroll and jingle away to raise funds to support the Ace of Clubs House, the Museum of Regional History, the P. J. Ahern Home and Discovery Place Children's Museum. Santa Sprint begins at 8AM.

Then you can enter your own festive Reindeer (dog) in one of the 8 Reindeer Categories in an adorably festive Reindeer Run Dog Show. From cutest to fastest to best dressed - there's a category sure to fit Fido. And all Reindeer entered will automatically be eligible for the Rudolph Award (Best of Show).

And the day doesn't end there, Mrs. Claus will be cooking up yummy treats for you to purchase as you wait for your photo with Santa or to shop at our Elves' Market. Last minute gifts for the kiddos in your family or a special treat to encourage the children to make sure they are on Santa's Good Boys & Girls List! Our entertainment and free crafts & activities will keep the little ones busy.
