It seems there was a reason behind Robin Thicke's recent cryptic tweet, "How's everyone liking #GiveIt2U?"

Reps at Interscope Records confirm that the singer's next single off Blurred Lines is, in fact, his Kendrick Lamar-assisted tune, titled "Give It 2 U."

Initially the song was believed to be just a promotional offering, since it was released as a free track on Robin's MySpace page.

On the new track, which was produced by Dr Luke, Cirkut and will.i.am, Robin sings in falsetto on the hook: "You know you’re looking’ so damn fly/You’re looking’ like you fell from the sky/You know you make a grown man cry/I wanna give it to you tonight."

Meanwhile, the Compton rapper raps, "Lunch with a few Mai Thais/Purple kisses on my tie."

Thicke tweeted that together with Kendrick, they "killed this track," and posted a link to where fans can preview the song.  Regarding Blurred Lines the album, he later wrote that he's "really excited to bring this music to you all."

"Give It 2 U" serves as the follow-up single to Robin's current summer smash, "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams, which has spent three consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It marks Thicke's first single to surpass one million in downloads, which makes the party anthem the most downloaded song of 2013 428,477 total downloads during the week ending June 23.

As previously reported, you can order Blurred Lines now, exclusively through iTunes. To celebrate the release of this project, Robin confirmed on Twitter that he will be performing on NBC's Today show on July 30, which coincides with his album's launch date. He playfully wrote, "who's coming to the plaza that morning?"
