New Movies in Texarkana on Friday, October 28, 2011

There are three new movies opening tomorrow in Texarkana: In Time, The Rum Diary and Puss In Boots. Check out the trailers below.

Showtimes start as early as 1:05PM. Puss In Boots will be in three different theaters: 3D, Digital and Standard. In Time and The Rum Diary will be shown in the Standard theaters. Standard is the reel to reel movie. Digital cinematography, according to Wikipedia, is the process of capturing motion pictures as digital images, rather than on film. ‘In Time‘ features Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in a futuristic sci-fi thriller where time replaces money as the ultimate currency. The people stop aging at 25, but there is a catch: the people are genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless they can buy more time. The rich earn decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man (Timberlake's character) from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage (Seyfried's character). Living literally from minute to minute, their love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system. This movie reminds me of Logan's Run from back in the day. They are actually working on a remake of that film. I'm looking forward to watching In Time.

Depp’s ‘The Rum Diary‘ sees him playing an American journalist in late-1950s Puerto Rico who gets caught up with a corrupt businessman’s unsavory scheme. This will be another one of Johnny Depp's fast moving movies with lots of things happening at once. Deception, love and a happy ending are expected.

And finally, the ‘Shrek’ series’ suave, sword-fighting furry feline hero, ‘Puss in Boots,’ stars in his very own swashbuckling animated adventure starring the voices of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris.
