The star-studded MTV Video Music Awards promo campaign has begun.  Miley Cyrus is the star of the first promo for this year's awards telecast, and in it, she's taking over the New York City subway system.

The clip is set at a subway stop in Brooklyn, New York for the Barclays Center, where the MTV VMAs will be held.  A musician on the subway platform is playing Miley's hit "We Can't Stop" on a guitar, when all of a sudden, a female fire artist comes walking down the subway tracks, shooting flames out of her mouth and holding flaming sticks in her hands.

Then, a whole pack of party kids emerges from the subway tracks, as the Beastie Boys' classic "No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn" starts blasting.  Miley descends from a metal ladder, wearing super-high heels, black booty shorts, a gold belly chain and a white midriff-baring bra top.   As she struts down the subway tracks, "Miley Is Coming for You" flashes across the screen.

Miley will be appearing at the awards show, along with the likes of Lady Gaga and Kanye West.  Her clip for "We Can't Stop" is up for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Editing at the show, which airs at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 25.

In other Miley news, she's finally announced the title of her new album.  On Twitter, she wrote that she would reveal the name of the disc when she hit 13 million followers.  When that happened on Tuesday, she tweeted, "13 million #BANGERZ...If you don't know why my record is called BANGERZ you'll know as soon as you hear it. Nothin but #BANGERZ."

We presume that Miley means "bangers," which is a common way to describe music that sounds great in the club.
