‘Laces Of Grace’ Run At Trinity Baptist Saturday

The second annual "Laces of Grace" Easter run will take place at Trinity Baptist at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The 5K, 10K and 1K fun run will start and finish at Trinity Christian Church in Texarkana Arkansas. All courses are a "one loop" format. Trinity Christian Church is located at the intersection of Arkansas Loop 245 and Interstate 30.

Proceeds from the Laces of Grace Easter Run will go towards the purchase of shoes and socks for children in need in Texarkana & the surrounding area. This race will be held on the campus of Trinity Christian Church on April 4th.

Race Day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:00 AM at the Trinity Christian Church. Race day registration fee is $35 and may only be paid at the race site. The race will begin at 9:00 AM. The race courses is a traditional loop course. The course will be well marked and will have mile markers at each mile. Laces of Grace, Inc. was started in 2010 by Matt Graves, his wife Corey, and his three beautiful kids, Baylie, Drew and Casey.

After spending years at the collegiate level coaching football, Matt came back home to Texarkana to coach high school football. After getting close to one of the players, Matt and Corey took the young man shopping for shoes to start the school year. When they walked in the store, he had NO IDEA what size shoe he wore. He had on a decent pair of shoes in a size 9.5. They wound up buying him a size 11.5

 Matt couldn’t imagine walking around with shoes that were 2 sizes too small. Since that day, he began noticing kids’ shoes and what terrible condition some of them were in. When he saw a kid with a nicer pair, he couldn’t help but wonder if they were 2 sizes too small.
