Kevin Sharp, who scored a hit in 1996 with "Nobody Knows," has died.

Sharp's website announced the singer died Saturday night of ongoing complications from past stomach surgeries and digestive issues. He was 43.

Sharp who survived a battle with a rare form of bone cancer after he was diagnosed while in high school earned a #1 country hit in 1996 with "Nobody Knows," a cover of a song by R&B artist Tony Rich. It was off his debut album, Measure of a Man, which also featured the singles "She's Sure Taking It Well" and "If You Love Somebody."

Sharp later released two more studio albums: 1998's Love Is and 2005's Make a Wish.

A memorial service is being planned in Nashville. More information will be announced on Sharp's website in the near future.
