Earthquake Felt As Far Away As San Antonio

According to kens5.com the strongest quake could be felt in San Antonio. Falls City is 43 miles away from the south Texas hub, and the 3.9 magnitude earthquake was still felt.

Falls City is about 10 miles northwest of Karnes City. They had a violent quake there and if they can feel it in San Antonio, it has to be disconcerting for the few closer residents.

Many Small Earthquakes Are Happening All Over Texas

Recently we shared a story about Mentone, Texas getting a 5.2 quake in the Delaware Basin of Texas. That area has been home to more earthquakes than ever, since 2009 due to fracking.

California is no longer the earthquake leader in the U.S. as we have increased our oil and gas drilling in Texas. The quakes are usually in an unpopulated area, but now are being felt in major cities.

Most researchers agree that these are the consequences of fracking. As these earthquakes get stronger and closer to populated areas, the consequences could eventually outweigh the positives.
