Arkansas Troopers Arrest Suspected Murderer of Two Teens
On Monday, July 15, 2024, Special Agents from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) took Devontea Clay, 25, into custody on two counts of Capital Murder in connection with the deaths of LaMarion Gilliam, 19, and Sucram O'Donald, 16, both from North Little Rock.
The investigation began over a year ago on May 23, 2023, when ASP received a call about a person found lying on State Highway 161, south of Scott, Arkansas. Upon arrival, medical personnel discovered that the victim, identified as LaMarion Gilliam, had been shot multiple times. Despite valiant efforts to save him, Gilliam passed away at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. While securing the scene, law enforcement found the other victim, Sucram O'Donald, deceased in a nearby field with multiple gunshot wounds.
Devontea Clay was served the arrest warrants at the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he is currently detained on unrelated charges. The ASP continues to investigate the case and is urging anyone with information that might help in this or any ongoing case, to please come forward.
